British Virgin Islands Chefs Introduce BVI Cuisine to Mid-Atlantic Diners

Tortola, British Virgin Islands, May 11, 2015 - Three of the British Virgin Islands top chefs along with a
renowned BVI mixologist and Jr. Chef will head to the mid-Atlantic states of Delaware and Maryland this
week to represent the Territory in the highly anticipated second annual Mid-Atlantic Wine & Food
Festival.

Held from 13th to 17th of May, the five-day culinary event features 75 chefs, 25 winemakers and half a
dozen culinary experts preparing a wide array of courses and tastings that reflect the versatility in food,
wine and beer from different parts of the world. The chefs will participate in – The Vine and the Net: A
Seafood Winemakers Lunch; Historic New Castle Progressive Winemakers Dinner; High Winemakers
Dinner; Turk’s Head Winemakers Dinner; Gala Winemakers Dinner; Cal-Ital Winemakers Dinner; Open
THAT Bottle Winemakers Dinner; Sunday Gospel Brunch; and BVI Sunday by the Bay.

“The Mid Atlantic Wine and Food Festival offers a unique opportunity for our chefs in the British Virgin
Islands to feature the BVI as a premier Caribbean destination for culinary travel. Through this event, we are
introducing our cuisine, signature drinks, and our top chefs to attendees who are seeking extraordinary
gastronomic and travel experiences,” said Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax-Mars.

BVI Chefs Jermaine ‘Monk’ George of Tree House Restaurant; Junior Sous Chef Caswell Pondt of
Rosewood Little Dix Bay and member of the BVI National Culinary Team; Pastry Chef Gorvey Henry of
Gorvey Henry Cakes; and Mixologist Ernest ‘Captain’ Francis of Peter Island Resort & Spa will create
“island stations” during British Virgin Islands Sunday by the Bay, which will feature culinary dishes and
cocktails of the BVI.

Jr. Chef Radiance Modeste will also join the team, making this her first international culinary event on
behalf of the Tourist Board since winning the title of Junior Chef at the 2nd annual Junior Chef challenge
this past November at Rosewood Little Dix Bay Resort.
