Another Successful Luxury Road Show for the British Virgin Islands

Tortola, British Virgin Islands, October 12, 2015 –The British Virgin Islands (BVI) Luxury Roadshow returned to the United Kingdom (UK) last week for the final leg of this four-part annual event. A series of meetings and two gala dinners; one in Chester and the other in London, were hosted by Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax-Mars, and the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board UK team.

With the goal of promoting the BVI as a destination of choice for the UK luxury market and recognising the hard work of industry individuals that are contributing to the destination’s continued growth in UK visitors, the annual roadshow – which has become a social highlight on the luxury travel trade calendar - is designed to be both informative and celebratory.

Tour operators, travel agents, industry partners and BVI trade friends spent time networking and learning more about new BVI products, sales tools, and services. The first event was held at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday, 6 October, while the London event took place Thursday, 8 October at Rosewood London, the sister hotel of Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda. In total more than 150 guests took part in the BVI Luxury Road Show, sharing news, swapping stories, learning and toasting tourism.

“Our annual Luxury Road Show has such an important role on the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board’s calendar,” expressed Sharon Flax-Mars. “It’s thanks to so many key players in the UK, who support the BVI, that we are seeing a huge growth in tourism from this market. With continued support and notably the launch of the new VI Airlink flight connections this year, I have no doubt we will continue to go from strength to strength in the UK.”

At the event in Chester, special recognition was given to ITC Luxury Travel for its Outstanding Support of BVI Tourism in 2015. Carrier was commended as runner up. While in London, The Turquoise Holiday Company was awarded the Outstanding Support of BVI Tourism 2015 award, with Caribtours commended for their Outstanding Support of VI Airlink in 2015. Virgin Atlantic was acknowledged for its Outstanding Support to the BVI Tourist Board London Office in 2015 and James Henderson won the Outstanding Support of BVI Journalism 2015 award.
